Penn HealthX Podcast Debuts: Take a Listen!

Looking to hear from people who are equally committed to health care, technology, and entrepreneurship? Look no further than the newly debuted Penn HealthX Podcast. Created and produced by students and faculty at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine, the goal of the podcast, as the Penn HealthX team explains, is “to share the stories and journeys of those already working at the intersection of business and medicine.”

The podcast’s first six episodes are currently available for your listening pleasure on iTunes, SoundCloud, and other platforms. Included in those first episodes: a conversation with Penn Medicine professor Dr. Carrie Kovarik about tele-dermatology, a discussion of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and women’s health, and a closer look at how mHealth is bringing care to patients in Botswana, among other topics. In future episodes, it will seek both “to highlight excellent work happening at The University of Pennsylvania and beyond,” and “to help students and those early in their medical careers understand how to become leaders in the field.”

PennHealthX is an interdisciplinary program dedicated to bringing together Penn students focused on health care innovation. Since its founding in 2013, it “has grown into a fully funded program that provides medical students with opportunities to explore, experience, and contribute to innovation in health care,” per their web site.
