Happy Holidays From the CTeL Team!

The CTeL team wishes you and your loved ones a happy, healthy, and relaxing holiday season.

As we reflect on the past year, one thing is clear: It’s been a busy and eventful 2017 for the telehealth community. From the introduction (and in some cases, passage) of dozens of telehealth-related bills in Congress and in state legislatures throughout the country, to the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) proposed rule making it easier for the agency’s practitioners to treat patients across state lines, to continued investment in the industry, a lot has gone on. Here at CTeL, we brought stakeholders together to form the Telehealth Reimbursement Coalition, which is working to make a research-based case for increased Medicare reimbursement for telehealth care; and the Controlled Substances Regulatory Reform Coalition, which will be evaluating, drafting, and proposing amendments to existing state and federal regulations impacting the practice of safe and effective behavioral health. We also delivered new research on topics ranging from telehealth in occupational therapy practice to state and federal legislation, and welcomed attendees to our largest ever CTeL Executive Telehealth Summit.

There’s a lot to be proud of–and a lot of work still to be done. We’re looking forward to another productive year in 2018, as we continue working with all of you to advocate for access to high-quality telehealth care. Thank you for being a part of our community, and see you in the new year!

All the best,

The CTeL team

P.S. Our office will be closed from December 22, 2017, through January 1, 2018. We’ll reopen on January 2. If you need to get in touch during that time, contact our deputy executive director Christa Natoli. Otherwise, see you in 2018!
