Disclaimer: This video is meant as a joke, but the facts are real. Millions depend on telehealth for critical healthcare services, and we need action to keep access available. CTeL has had no communication with Anne Milgram, and we do not represent her or control her agency. This statement is intended to stimulate interest and is a staged notice regarding any communication with the DEA.

We’re making this very simple:

1. Read it.

Extend Telehealth Prescribing Waivers

Telehealth has transformed healthcare delivery, making essential services more accessible than ever. However, the temporary waivers that allowed for flexibility in telehealth prescribing are set to expire. Without these waivers, countless patients could lose access to critical care, including mental health services and treatments for chronic conditions.

You have a vital role in shaping the future of telehealth. But guess what, you’re not alone! Hundreds of telehealth companies, associations, and groups are coming together in support of extending these waivers. We’ve sent letters and memos and talked to the press.

We all have your back. Do you have ours?

Raise your voice and help ensure the DEA takes urgent action to extend these waivers. The clock is ticking (literally, do you see it ticking down up there?!).

Why Act Now?

  • Patients at Risk: Millions of patients rely on telehealth for access to necessary prescriptions, especially in rural and underserved areas.

  • Health System Strain: Without the extension, healthcare systems may become overwhelmed, forcing patients back into in-person visits that increase wait times and reduce the quality of care.

  • Mental Health Crisis: Telehealth is a lifeline for patients seeking mental health treatment. Rolling back waivers would cut off access for many, exacerbating the ongoing mental health crisis.

How You Can Make a Difference:

  • Are you a Congressional Staffer: Advocate for your constituents by pressing the DEA (we support annoying prodding, poking, and pestering) to extend telehealth prescribing flexibilities. Share the impact this could have on healthcare access in your district. Voters like access to healthcare, you like voters, it’s a win-win all around.

  • Do you work for the media? Cover the importance of telehealth prescribing waivers and spotlight how their expiration will negatively affect patients and healthcare systems across the nation. Use your platform to raise awareness. There is no shortage of stories on how this inaction will impact our communities; you could fill a content calendar for weeks!

  • Are you a hospital, health system, or provider: Share your experiences and data with policymakers. Let them know how telehealth has improved patient outcomes and how reverting to pre-pandemic rules will hinder care delivery. Call and call and call some more.

What’s Next? We need the DEA to act quickly to prevent the expiration of these critical waivers. By uniting efforts, we can keep the momentum behind telehealth and protect patient access to essential care. It is true what Troy Bolton from High School Musical said…we are in fact, all in this TOGETHER.
