Payment Parity
Payment Parity: State law requires the same health service to be covered via telehealth if it is covered via in-person services AND the health care provider is reimbursed for the telehealth service with the same payment rate as the in-person service.
Coverage Parity: State law requires the same health service to be covered via telehealth if it is covered via in-person services. The payment rate for the telehealth service may differ from the in-person service.
Neither: State law does not require payment or coverage parity for telehealth services.
